Dr. Simon Silman
Born 1907 in Bradford, Yorkshire in north-east England Died 2007 in Jerusalem, Israel Medical practice (GP) in England until retirement in 1968 and then in Israel until age 84.
During World War ll served in the Royal Army Medical Corps in India, Burma and Malaya.
He was a Freemason, a supporter of the now defunct Tehiya Party and a volunteer at Moked 109 hotline for the elderly, a keen Bridge player who taught others to play.
Known for his kindness, intelligence and interest in current affairs into his hundredth year.
Mourned by his daughters, Donya Meijer and Susan Corby, his sisters Jenny Noam and Esther (Stella) Givon, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is buried on the Mount of Olives beside his dear wife Sadie, who died in 1978.
