Updated!!! Election 2009: Rosner's Poll Trend

And adding just one paragraph to the post about Time's "Can Israel Survive Gaza" piece: while I think this Time article is not at all interesting – I do agree with Jeffrey Goldberg's other conclusion:

Time magazine asks the question, "Can Israel Survive Gaza?" It's a little bit of an overwrought piece, but interesting (I'm also known for overwrought pieces about Israel). But it got me thinking: Which one will last longer: Israel, or Time magazine? I'm betting on Israel.

On May 5, 1964, LOOK magazine ran a cover story by Thomas B. Morgan entitled “The Vanishing American Jew.” LOOK folded in 1971. Jews are still going strong.

In 50 Years how many of your enemies will be existential threats? How many will be stateless and offer no retaliatory target? No Return address? How will you deter these enemies? What will stop the children whose parents you kill today from ending your whole country with the kind of weapon 50 years from now will have made available?

To Bannister--As an American you should be much more afraid of the answers to these questions. In Iraq and Afgahnisstan the US has killed tens of thousands of innocent civilians. At least Israel was directly attacked. I didn't notice Iraq attacking the US

@2 Bannister: There already exist the weapons to destroy Israel in one explosion. So why does it still exist? Are you saying that Palestinians just never hated Israel enough to actually try and destroy them, but this latest conflict was what threw them over the edge?

Of course, anything TIME publishes must come true. Remember how back in '39 their Nazi photographer Hugo Jaeger took gorgeous color pictures of the Nazi conquerors and their victims for the greater glory of Adolf Hitler[their Man Of The Year for '39]. To be on the safe side they created Newsweek in '38, to add Tweedledee to Tweedledum. They could name TIME "The Newsweekly Magazine" as well, nobody would have noticed the difference. The fact is that this kind of slanted media abuses US freedom of expression for propaganda and the unaware public assumes automatically that it tells the truth.

The reason you don't see IS BECAUSE YOU ARE BLIND. Irak at the stage it was attacked ... was invading or tried to Kuwait .......... Kuwait is an ally of US and asked for help against an invasion without provocation. The US needed to protect your his investments too in the area. That's how the cookie cooks. We are in that kind of world. War is humans favorite game, read history. Rest my case.

Guess what! Israel is wiinning Operation Cast Lead. Gaza's irresponsible leaders are getting the hiding they deserve. Israel is sad for all the losses and that is because it is Israel. Palestinian sadness for their own losses is also genuine, The time has come for the world to look hard and long at civilization's deeply imbedded antisemitism which helped convince the Palestinians to ally its fate with a hate that still threatens genocide. And if the media cannot lead that soul searching, then it is culpable for far more than stupidity. If the media were to challenge itself, so might Palestine!

I laughed to myself when I read the caption, "Why Israel Can't Win". Seems so many show a lack of intelligence when they put the amount of stock that they do, into the opinions of the media. The better title for a more realistic and factual article would be, "What Makes You Think That You Could EVER Overcome Israel". Although, the article was correct on some points of history (amazingly). I have no Jewish blood in my body, but I feel relief when Israel makes a move to smack at the mosquitos that are carrying deadly threats to her people.

Why do you ask? And you do not have to bet either. I think, Israel is God's chosen people or would she be hated and despised and persecuted so much otherwise? "But you, Israel, are My servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, The descendants of Abraham my friend. ...I have chosen you and have not cast you away..." ISAIAH 41 (And concerning, well, f.e. the Time magazine.) "Behold, all those who strive with you shall perish. You shall seek them and not find them-" ISAIAH 41

To Bannister USA: Your concern for Israel's future is touching. However, we must first get there. Eight years of rocket fire has not produce a concrete suggestion of how stop the aggression. Withdrawal fro Gaza emboldened Hamas and multiplied their number. Hamas did not change the fundamental tenant of its charter – to destroy Israel. There is no reason to assume the children of these people would have strayed from the faith of their parents and the teachings of their UN-funded schools, had Israel continued its non-defense for another eight years.

Israel will disappear quite soon, that's why most israelis keep 2 passports, and that's why they do not care about the harm that they do to the pals.

My Jewish friends, If you read of American papers and see people on TV who are not supportive of Isreal ignore it. Our media has been taken over by very liberal persons who hate America and do not believe anything is worth fighting for. They do not reflect what real Americans think. Real Americans support you and say "keep fighting" . You have a right to protect yourselves and your children. Real Americans support you and are on your side.

#2 Bannister For those who do not know hime, allow me to introduce a self-admitted terrorist supporter who hangs out with his Hezbollah buddies. He posts an endless series of the most ludicrous lies, all anti-Semtic in nature, of course. Anything he does is to forward his agenda of genocide for Jews everywhere. A collection of his rants will easily prove this. As for Time magazine, the content is unfit to line the bottom of a bird cage and has been so for decades. It has a long history of anti-Semitism and anti-Israel coverage and management.

According To Israel defenders, the reason the inevitable wont happen is because " it hasn't happened yet." OK I agree nothing to worry about. Go ahead kill with impunity. That Guy From Italy has a point though how many Israelis have a second passport? And YES Americas support for Israel makes us a huge target. And I don't think America can stop that sort of attack. We could just absorb more losses than Israel can.

It is unlikely that Israel or the concept of Israel will fail to survive an article in a magazine bought at airports. However some thought should be given to combating the relativism and lack of rational thought in the world media. Relativism says that all peoples opinions have equal worth, they don't. Belief in supernatural beings, who send messages through prophets is not a sound basis for the foundation of a nation state. However the disease of religion is fairly widespread in the middle east and until it passes into history the existence of Israel is hostage to the "beliefs" of believers.

Moshe, Tel Aviv Fake, what's taking Allah so long to wipe Israel off the face of the earth? Last I checked, the number of Israelis killed in this war was exactly 13, whereas the estimate of presumably Moslem "martyrs" has surpassed 900 and will almost certainly end up in the thousands. Could it be that Allah is as lazy as the Moslems who worship him? The Moslems should thank Israel for this war; who else has made so many Moslems martyrs?

The Israel Factor, Sep. 2009: Obama is rapidly losing favor with panel of Israeli experts

Mike Feldman, Canada: Tom. In response to Rafael, you mentioned your familiarity with the leaflets, but I guess you didn't read what he said about water and food deliveries. I can see where you think if Hamas takes to hiding in civilians structures, the IDF should be obliged to wait outside until they come out and avoid property damage at all cost. It seems to me that the brave Hamas sought the protection the Geneva Conventions provides to cililians by acting as if they were civilians and hiding among civilians. You want the IDF to be responsible to the wreckless endangerment of the Gazans perpetrated by Hamas. Like Hilary RodHAM its not kosher.
Dan J USA: Tom..US 68...I heard you are trying to get a hearing on the bombing of the following cities we USA military did in WW2...Munich, Dresden, Frankfort, Berlin, Tokyo, Nagasaki, Hirsohima. Was killing all those civilians necessary to win that war. Oh well, I suppose that if a nation is attacked they should expect to be hit back ! Israel, by bashers like you is not allowed that priviledge! Aren't we in the USA fighting those same guys in Iraq and Afghanistan...By the way Tommy ole bean does the US military send out "warnings to the Taliban before attacking them. They do have e mail.
Leroy Padmore,Liberia: They called themself human watchdog, watching over what?Israel so the terroristic group should killed the jewish people?let me tell the world something these are not like the days of Hilter,no no no.if you killed a Jew, you will be kill too .if you fire rockets into Israel believed it or not Israel will hit back big time.I my wife and children love Israel to our death.we will tell it to our childrens children.every single day we pray for Israel and the peace of Jerusalem.we blessed Israel with our pray.we are standing with Israel.let the Star of David fly high.SHALOM.
