Reading material:

1.

Hoagland thinks it's up to Netanyahu:

This is a combustible mix of betrayals, failures and intentions gone awry. So Netanyahu may yet throw Abbas a lifeline on settlements if only to keep his weakened opponent in office.

 2.

Rosner on Sarah Palin's book (Hebrew only).

3.

Is J Street "pro Israel"?

Foxman says no.

Ben Ami says "you have no right to decide who is and is not pro-Israel based on whether they agree with your views."

(Rosner says: Read the article I wrote for Slate back in May 2008 about this question)

4.

The New Jersey Jewish vote great debate: Did they vote for Christie?

5.

Afghanistan and public opinion:

But they are not the same people. Those who disapprove of Obama's handling of the war are much more likely to be Republicans. Those who think the war is not worth fighting are far more likely to be Democrats. Those who say send more troops tend to be Republicans; those who say send fewer tend to be Democrats. Only on the question of whether the Afghan government is a reliable partner is there unanimity -- overwhelming majorities of Democrats, Republicans and independents say no.

The issue is somewhat more complex than any of you mention. J Street, Republicans, and Democrats all are pursuing their own self interest in the way they support Israel. Lacking sufficient space to elaborate let me say that this criticism has been put forth exactly because these interests are involved in a power struggle that is wasteful and unnecessary. The confluence of activities which generated this have a historical context of at least a century. While the list is quite lengthy three of the current players are Russia, China, Germany and their surrogates.

j street and foxman are both working for the cia. this is how the cia controls both sides of an issue. only a jewish fool would vote for nj gov chrissy chrissy after he entrapped two elderly rabbis. only an even bigger jewish fool would waste time on a book written by sraah palen

J Street along with the VAST MAJORITY of American Ashkenazim hate Israel. They say they support Israel because they feel obligated but in reality they are Pro-Palestinian terrorist appeasers. Only a few of us intelligent Jews in the USA have any moral value.

Until bibi takes a firm stand all your land for appeasement will never be enough. It's funny 30 years ago today the iranian nutters stormed the u.s.embassy and held the people captive for14 months. It was during wimp carter's watch and we all know about the botched helicopter rescue attempt. The last day of the wimp's presidency they suddenly let them go.Why?simply because a real man of iron got the presidency and they KNEW not to play about with this man.Ronald Reagan was not a man who'd give in to terrorists,so netanyahu take a leaf out of his book [so to speak]

hold on there, both parties advocated the necessity of fight in afghanistan, both,i`ve no idea where j-street stood in 08,fact is democratic party components are all over the place on the issue, the conflicts of intrest are numerous, hence the current procrastination in the war on terror(oversea`s contingency operation)the water is cloudy enough,no more red dye please or yellow for that matter, unrelated but intresting observation over weekend, gathering 125 people, infant and toddler male to female ratio approx25 children only 4 males, with two more females on way,not right,ODD

Item3 of this article: Is J Street "Pro Israel"? Answer: Sure, sure, as much as superchickenwoman lydia and shagger Tom are Pro Israel.

Is J Street pro-Israel ? How stupid to even ask the question, with its inherent insinuation that it is not. Of course it IS ? The right-wingers have no monopoly on "pro-Israelisness".

Abdul ibnBakr Jeddah Suadi Arabia: "Fair and friendly"? No. Not at all. He is "lonely and horny"... waiting for Bibi to bend over and show some of that sweet Israeli asscrack the Pakistanis keep talking about.
Raymond in DC: Jennifer Watson writes, "Given Israel's ingratitude and arrogance towards Obama..." Oh, please! Your "cultured gentlemen" sends his enforcers to do his dirty work. Israel gave him the benefit of the doubt for a full year, yet his engagement and outreach strategies have delivered nothing. He disavowed the Bush-Sharon understandings. Ignores Jewish ties to the land. Demands that Israel "prove" it's interested in peace by making more concessions, while demanding nothing from Palestinians. Holds up requested military hardware while sending advanced arms to Arab nations. Dare I recall Durban II?
Sherlock Holmes, London: #11. Israeli Arabs are in an awkward position as many see themselves as Palestiian Arabs living in Israel, which is one of the reasons they are exempt from military service. On this particular survey it would matter how Arabs voted because they may well take the Palestinian side, not the Israeli side, with only the 20% of Israelis who are Arabs see Obama as 'friendly' . Most surveys break down the group surveyed according to political afilliation, age or income. #12 Your double negative makes your point difficult to follow. Also why is Rosner a smug tool? #15 Do you mean the Israeli mindset
