Rabin and Jerusalem

Yitzhak Rabin's assassin Yigal Amir must never go free. He must remain in prison for the rest of his life.

Murder is despicable. The sixth commandment says: Thou shall not kill!

A political murder is not just a moral crime. It is an attempt to undermine the very roots of democracy.

Freedom of speech and differences of opinion are the foundations of democracy. But in democracy, the government is changed by way of elections, not murder! And that is why the prime minister's murderer should not be treated as any other murderer.

Jan Henriksen, Australia: Dear Mr Netanyahu, I would hope to see Israel led not by a politician but by a statesman. Its hard to see ourselves. The real content of above should have been developed into a detailed focus on the hope and strength of Israel. By presenting hope - not argument - by presenting vision - not gripe- people will see your hope and understand your visions of their strength and it will be a light they can walk in and follow. Find the source of your own strength make clear what is your vision and speak if from a full heart. Without vision the people perish (prov. 29:18) The Tanakh is full of vision.
Diane, Roanoke, VA, USA: I am so glad that Israel has taken the initiative in the Gaza area. This area belongs to Israel and I think they should reclaim their land! This area, and much more, was given to them by God and they should not have to give up their land for "peace." Know by now that you will not have peace with the Arabs! Reclaim what is yours!
