What is it with religious women and Sex and the City?

The text message on my phone the other day read: "Come and see Sex and the City and raise money for underprivileged kids.at the same time." 

Hundreds of religious women are flocking to see Sex and the City. 'It's a charity thing,' said one. 'It's just a bit of fun,' protested another. Seems to me that the money collected might be better spent on a bit of stomach stapling for these SATC doppelgangers from the London suburbs of Hendon and Hampstead Garden Suburb.

David Manchester: Kaby, are you for real? In yeshivas they are reading texts advising them to commit one of Cardinal sins for which one is required to give up ones life for, rather than transgress? Which Yeshivas and which texts?
Kaby: One thing many have forgotten is that many "frum" young men are reading in yeshiva texts that recommend that if a man cannot keep himself from impropriety he should at least be careful and go to a place where he is not known to do it. So not only is there the possibility of rape to deal with but also the possibility that a woman's husband may have "gone where he wasn't known". Many STDs are symptomless in men and the man may infect his (future) wife at a later time without ever suspecting he was himself. Innoculate the boys properly against zonah, or innoculate the girls for HPV.
