Koch's Comments: On Hillary, Rudy and the economy Posted by Ed Koch
Comments: 18
Hillary Clinton's victory in Nevada was especially important and unexpected. Nevada is a caucus state, meaning that it does not have a secret ballot. Voting is up front with all to see how you are voting. The Culinary Workers' Union, which is one of the most successful and aggressive unions in the country, endorsed Barack Obama.

The man who presided over a New York in which you wouldn't let your mother walk to the corner to get milk has the gaul to call the man who cleaned up his mess 'nasty'. Ed Koch is a clown. A has-been, butt-of-jokes clown, who should be made to live in the New York over which he presided. Clown.
To the Jewish vote in the US (and in Israel) - like lemmings over the cliff. How long will the Jewish community stand firmly by candidates who lead them (willingly!!) to the cliff? Truly unbelievable.

Hillary, Mr. Koch says, is the most qualified candidate. Qualified for what, and by whom? As a possible Commander-in-Chief isn't she the one who accused Gen Petraeus of lying when the General was telling the truth? As a domestic reformer, wasn't her "Universal Health Plan" rejected by a Democrat-dominated Senate? If anything, Mrs. Clinton is an artificial candidate --selected by the Party machine to become the next President by having her elected Senator in a safely Democratic state with which she had no previous connection -- not by birth, nor by time spent there. Some qualifications !

Clearly--both for Israel and the U.S.-- Senator Clinton is the most qualified of those left in the Democratic primary contests.
Since there is a substantial chance that the Democrat will win her nomination is critical.
The other two guys stopped off in the Senate just long enough to change clothes and begin to run for President.
Their Iraq policy consists of "Surrender Now" snatching defeat from the jaws of possible victory and almost certainly bringing chaos to the region.

ed koch's assessments are a part of his sense of humor, and everything he said should be viewed this way. Essentially he is a clown.
Please do not take advice from clowns.
As far as Monica Lewinsky's ex-boyfriend's wife being a candidate for president, I would think that Lewinsky has more office experience and should be nominated instead. Her single winning platform could be normalizing relations with cuba and bringing cigars back into USA.

I love the description on the right: your legenday former nyc mayor....where exactly is he a legend? public bathhouses? his own ego? where?

Rudy was disliked and hated the city employees. He tried to break all the unions and thought that they were goldbricks. He left the city with a hugh deficit that his successor had to eliminate. Does this sound familiar? His "claim to fame" was that he was mayor when the World Trade Center was bombed. He was so smart that his office of emergency management was in the same buildings that were bombed in 1992! How smart was that? If you disagreed with Rudy, you were cut off. At least Ed Koch has tried to make the city safer and a better place. Vote him OUT!!!!!

It is beyond me to comprehend why former NY Mayor Koch prays for a sinister demagogue.
Her qualifications to lead this country AND its people are, at best, mediocre, while her propensity for straight talk...
Ed Koch is an intelligent man, perhaps he is pushing for Billary because "they" look un-electable to many in this country?

No consistancy here Ed. If you were for Bush in 04' why are you now for Hillary. Clearly the only candidate in the field who is willing to stand up against radical Islam is none other then JOHN McCAIN.
At this critical juncture we westerners must elect a man with some proven testicular fortitude.

You are for Hillary because you've seen her do an outstanding job as senator from the state of New York. She has the most experience you say.
Senator Barack Obama is a brilliant man! He would make a wonderful president. Sometimes experience is not better. This is such a case. Brilliance should be rewarded.
Senator Biden should be picked as vice-president.

Will the real nasty man please stand up!
Ed Koch is jealous of how well Giuliani ran the City compared to him. Koch was outraged since the time Rudy kicked Arafat out of Lincoln Center. He has been carrying out this petty tantrum now for more than 10 years.
I am a Jew, and I am proudly for my favorite all time mayor of NYC.
Note to Bloomberg... before you decide to run, I wrote in Rudy twice rather than vote for you once. I will vote for Rudy again over you for President.

Many people would hope that your prayers
are not answered regarding the election of Hillary Rodham and Company. Husband, Bill
is behaving like a hired 'hit-man' on the campaign trail, kneecapping Obama at every
opportunity. Now, that's "NASTY!" The New York Senator has generated not one iota of
inspirational "ready for change" rhetoric.
America does not welcome another Clinton
White House, and in particular a converted Oval Office to cigar parlor.

Ed Koch is a greay guy and usually his analysis is very weighty. Not this time around. His antipathy via-a-vis Rudy, the former mayor who was able to clean up the mess Ed contributed to create to in the first place, might be understandable. But his belief in HRClinton - might not.

So Koch's idea of minimizing the recession is to give money to people and demand they spend it. This is the same bonehead economics of the Townshend Plan...the idea that if only people would consume more, then prosperity would reign. Be a patriot and buy stuff! Bah! It's just an excuse to confiscate wealth and give away goodies to voters. The nation is out of balance; we've got to consume a tad less and produce more. That's the hard fact that most politicians won't deliver. Does Koch actually believe his drivel, or is he just pandering?

Former Mayor Koch is a nice man who used his pleasant, humorous, and witty personality to captivate voters. Unfortunately, he was too nice to deal with the problems that he had to deal with. And has once again taken the nice guy approach in dealing with an unpleasant reality.
I guess his nice guy mentality tells him that the candidate with strong ties to his pastor who strongly supports Louie Farrakhan and has the middle name of Hussein is not for him. Since his credentials are somewhat tarnished by 2004, I guess he was left with no other alternative but a New York Senator.

There will be ZERO Dem. delegates chosen from Florida (penalty for violating national Dem party rules by moving up election), therefore, knowing their votes would be irrelevant, Democrats (and Independents!) have registered as Republicans for purposes of the primary (w/intention to switch back). So the media assertion that Florida will be the first primary to truly reflect the Republican sentiment is just not true, and Koch's point that NY Jews living in Florida are registered Democrats might be an overstatement given this year's primary circumstances.

Those poor slob Jews who still worship Franklin Roosevelt will remain ignorant till the day they die. Roosevelt was the 'leader' who refused Jews about to be murdered entry to the US. The leader who allowed the murder factory, Auschwitz, to continue it's genocide. The leader who appointed a cabinet of anti-Semites-bar a few. The leader who warned the North African Arab leaders to be wary of Jews be let into North Africa. If you must worship a Roosevelt, then try Eleanor.

Folks, do cross the party lines! Do vote for Rudy! This election is far too crucial to do politics as usual. Rudy is in a league of his own. He is the best for both the USA and Israel. Rise above the usual partisan politics for this occasion, for the sake of the USA and Israel! If Florida voters, Republican and Democrat, fail to elect Rudy, they will repeate the horrible blunder of the Democrat primary voters who chose Carter over the great Henry "Scoop" Jackson 32 years ago.
