Tachlis 2 Point Oh! is a conference that will be held in Jerusalem on Sept. 17th, 2008 from 6-10 pm. The focus will be on the dissemination of practical information related to the use of Web 2.0 tools in order to promote both for profit and not for profit ventures. Aharon Horwitz of Presentense will talk about grass roots community building, Ahuva Berger an independent consultant and author of the Sabra At Heart blog will discuss how one can best use social networking tools like twitter, facebook etc. and I'll talk about how to make friends and influence people through the effective use of Shakshuka. Oh wait, that's something else. I mean I am going to talk about blogs.

I have to give a hat tip to the Nefesh B'Nefesh Blog Conference and Amutah 2.0. Besides the fact that these events demonstrate the existence in Israel of a strong online community in both the private and public sector, the networking opportunities that they created acted as the driving force behind the creation of Tachlis.

The venue that will host the event is this gorgeous bar/lounge called Bulghourji just around the corner from Jaffa gate in the Armenian Quarter. Kosher food and drinks will be served and a good time will be had by all. Thanks to our sponsors particularly the Taglit Birthright Israel Alumni Association and Sun Microsystems. So yeah. If you're going to be in Israel, go ahead and register. The cost is only 50 Shekels.

This is serious ok? You know how you know? Because we have a hot Web 2.0 logo. That's how you know.

We've had loads of interest from both sponsors and participants. Part of that interest might stem from the fact that we are running a High Tech conference in one of the oldest cities in the world, or that a bunch of Jews are getting together in the Armenian Quarter to kibbitz (Jerusalem United, yay!). But in order to participate you have to get there. So first register at tachlis.org, then get yourself to Jerusalem on September 17th. Finally, watch this video!

This looks fantastic! I loved the video too. Like the video said, it is pretty "cool" that lofty high tech matters are being discussed within the walls of a 3000 year old city. I think I am going to attend this.

pea: I enjoyed the interplay between Vicki and her husband. The actual story took second place to that. I love Jewlicious and am looking forward to more from Vicki!
USA: Trainers consulted with the Jewish Cultural Center and they Ok'd it? What's wrong with their Jewish Cultural Center. I find all the humor implied here distasteful including using Giraffes instead or that this might be OK'd in the US because we never had pogroms. This is not humor and is anti-Semitic wherever it is in the world. It's not funny in any form. Thank G-d Jews have left Russia and to the author of this article thank you for writing it, but don't try so hard to be apologetic by adding humor to what you know is downright disgusting.
