NOTE: 'Feeling the Hate in Jerusalem' has since been removed from YouTube due to "terms of use violation."

UPDATE: I made a video response to Feeling the Hate in Jerusalem which I wrote about in my previous entry.

I asked some of my fellow students at Bar-Ilan University what they thought of Obama's speech. Everyone in the video is a first or second year student of Political Science and\or Communications.

Not surprisingly, all of the students had different things to say. Some liked Obama more, some liked him less, but they all had complex opinions that were based on legitimate facts and ideas. Not one of them made a racist comment.

I think that this video shows how wrong Dana and Blumenthal are.

Some major differences between the videos:

  • Notice that not all Israelis are white! Israelis come in all colors. Doesn't make much sense for them to wish death on the "n*ggers," does it?
  • Israeli opinion isn't monolithic! Some like Obama! Some don't! Some aren't sure! This is because - surprise, surprise - Israelis are PEOPLE.
  • The people in this video are actually Israeli. Notice their accents. Notice how they're searching for the right words, and not because they're drunk.

Check it out::

Kol ha kavod, Lahav! The Blumenthal video, though, did a great service by unintentionally showing how much racism there is: after all, this video of drunken kids making idiots of themselves was interesting to so many people only because it was drunken Jewish kids. To try to sell it off as saying anything about Israeli or American Jewish public opinion was for sure no less racist than the drunken youngsters -- and one has to assume that the video's producers were sober...

Lahav Harkov, I enjoyed watching your video response. I think we all knew that the American Israeli idiots shown in the first film were not representing all Israeli students. Your film does not change what the other film contains or my perceptions of those fools. Perhaps, these Israeli students could teach their racist, hate-filled, ugly American cousins a thing or two. Do the two groups mix?

I appreciate seeing more reactions to the video by Israelis, but I am troubled by the claim that this proves Blumenthal "wrong". I don't think he ever once asserted that those drunks represented all Israelis. He did say it disturbed him--but that's a very fair response. MY MAIN POINT: I don't think Dana or Blumenthal ever thought of it as a statistically sound representation of public opinion, nor did they ever claim it was. Mondoweiss and Max Blumenthal's site provide much needed context about the filming & the careful decision of whether to post it. Read their serious, sober explanation.

Thanks Zach. Blumenthal's site does have a great explanation.

posted on you tube \How about talking about getting along together You posters are the ones full of hate. Kids who are drunk always say stupid and disgusting things but your sober reactions are even more horrible Now I know and see what hate is. Thanks Max and all you hate loving posters!! What happened to peace or lets try to get along. Drunk teenagers said stupid things filmed unknowingly by a man full of hate and rage and you all bought it. You are all as stupid as the kids, but you are? not drunk!

Hi I have read up on Max Blumenthal. ie is known for being outrageous, controversial, and very leftist He writes for the Daily Beast and Mondoweiss. He writes that he knew these kids were drunk, The video was removed from Huffington for not being credible reporting. He posted it on youtube to prove filming drunk kids is real reporting.. He edited and removed clips. He asked leading questions and laughed These kids said disgusting things. Blumenthal was asked to remove these clips. He should be sought out and banned from the press. He haspromoted so much anti-semitism
