Window on Israel: It's tough being Emperor of the World Posted by Ira Sharkansky

I find myself defending Barack Obama, even though I think he's in over his head and on the way to embarrassment or worse in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Israel-Palestine. American citizens, weaned on traditions that emphasize their country's moral leadership and superiority in just about every category, go once again to the pursuit of justice, glory, or salvation for themselves and others. I give Jimmy Carter credit for nursing along the Egypt-Israel peace, but in recent years he has been pathetic. Eisenhower had Gary Powers's U2. Bush's father left under the weight of "It's the economy, stupid." LBJ escalated and then quit on Vietnam. Nixon talked himself out of office. Clinton could not control parts usually kept private. Domestic problems arise from the complexity of the United States, all those interests and egos with access to Congress, and the temptations of presidential appointees to do well for themselves while doing good for the country. The best treatments are available in the United States, but the average American does not get as much as the average citizen in other well-to-do democracies. Obama's avowed downsizing in Iraq is admirable, but seems unlikely to undo the damage begun by his predecessor. His announced military aspirations for Afghanistan are not encouraging, nor are the beginnings of his political involvement in Israel-Palestine. There is a damning record in what has been called the War on Drugs, which must be given some credit for those other miseries. It is appropriate to end with best wishes. All of us stand to benefit or suffer from what comes out of the Oval Office, even if we prefer to be ignored by its occupant.

Pretending the presidency is a world popularity contest is the first serious mistake a president makes. The job demands leading, not following. Leaning toward political correctness, or towards appeasing those rapt in their own ascent to power always results in degradation of US influence...and the "emperor's" job is exerting positive influence - a push to the world, a navigational tug, a gravitational adjustment in a better direction. Better than the world tilting towards totalitarianism, again. Or appeasement of tyranny, again. Or tolerating genocide, again. The job demands courage...again.

It's interesting, you try to make those who question Obama's right to be president as basically nut jobs. I don't know the truth behind all this. However, I do know that Barack has never produced a real and valid birth certificate. The real one has been sealed. He also sealed his college transcripts, marriage license, and college thesis statement. So the real question is, what is Barack Hussein Obama hiding? With his current documents provided so far, he could not work for the FBI, CIA or serve in the U.S. military. Funny though he can command them all, and the country. Your article is biased.
